Die-Cut Vinyl
Standard adhesive or air release vinyl can be cut along mathematically precise lines and curves. This process is called contour cutting, and it is done with an impressive level of geometric sophistication. A sheet of vinyl is printed and then cut by a machine into letters or shapes. This vinyl can then be applied to a surface (such as a window, car or counter) as a design element or as text. You’ve likely seen die cut vinyl on the doors of most stores, where it shows the hours of operation, or has the name of the store on letters that seem to float on the surface of the glass.
Die Cut vinyl is fade resistant and printed with latex inks. It will stand up to just about any weather condition and will continue to look fantastic for years. It’s not hard to remove when the time comes, and it won’t stain or leave residue behind. Combined with printing onto the vinyl before cutting, die cut vinyl can make letters and shapes of any color or shape and spruce up any flat surface of your choosing.
